DS...hacking(?) question

If I go out and buy a Nintendo DS Lite and then order the R4 DS will I be able to simply download a Nintedo DS ROM, copy and paste it onto the memory card, insert the memory card into the R4 DS, and just run the game? And will it work for every single game? Or do I have to flash the DS, put some software on, solder some pins, etc?

You only need the r4 and correct files on the micro-sd card.

No soldering or installations on the ds.
