X-ecuter 2 4979

Nu har X-ecuter 2 4979 bioset släppts. De viktigaste enligt mig är:

1: Timecheck är borttaget, så att man slipper problem när man byter hårddisk och klockan inte är korrekt inställd. Ibland har man ju inte en hårddisk med fungerande ms dashboard tillgänglig!

2: Stöd för videochippet i de nya xboxarna

3: LBA48 stöd så att man kan ha upp till 2000GB stor hårddisk. Bioset finns i en version där allt över 8GB hamnar på F (perfekt om man preparerar en helt ny hårddisk) och en version där 9-137GB hamnar på F och allt över 137GB hamnar på G (perfekt om man redan har en stor hårddisk monterad med massor av data på F som man inte har tid/lust/möjlighet att göra backup på)

Well folks it's been a long time in the making but we finally
cracked it. As most of you know the new v1.4 and v1.5 Xbox had
a new FOCUS video encoder (FS454) which replaced the old Conexant
version (CX25871) and video output could no longer be generated.

Evox implemented their old hacks to the new 5101 kernel and that
all worked fine, however Xecuter doesn't patch the MS kernel, we
use source code to develop our advanced patches and hacks, but
without the source code for the Focus encoder we were pretty much
stuffed. After many weeks of hardcore low level hacking we have
successfully developed the Focus source code from scratch and are
pleased to announce a fully working X2 bios with Focus support
embedded for your enjoyment. Now you can use all the extra features
you've all come to expect from Xecuter

Another couple of features include the skipping of the MS Dash clock
check which has been requested many times. This enables you to boot
from DVD correctly when setting up a new hard disk without any
problems or errors. This gets rid of Error 16 problems.

We have also intergrated OzPaulb's fantastic LBA48 hack which we had
to painstaiknigly convert from Assembly to C source. This is now
embedded into our X2 source so you can use two versions of our bios.
One for LBA48 6 and one for LBA 48 6+7 (LBA48 6 is one large F
partition - recommened for new HD installs, and LBA48 6+7 is for
those who want to extend your current F drive to its larger size
without losing any data). For those who dont know you were
previousley limited to a 137GB drive - now you can have up to 2 TB
(2199023255040 bytes) or 2000 Gb for the *ahem* uninformed.

We've also added a "fix" section in this nfo that solves many
crashing problems that some of you maybe experiencing with your
games / apps - check it out.

X2 4979 will most likely be the last bios in the X2 series, as well
as the X2.3 hardware design (with new power adapter). We thank you
all for your generous support over the last 2 years and we will be
seeing you soon with the feature packed X3 hardware and software.

You should be made aware of some issues that we discovered and
has probably had some of you tearing your hair out.

If you have games like GTA, GTA Vice City and Fifa 2004 etc and
they are crashing during the game then you will find they operate
and AUTOSAVE check which uses your system clock. Now if your system
clock is corrupt then it will crash a number of titles which use
AUTOSAVE. One clock we found corrupt had a date/time setting of
15/11/8097. The second the clock was fixed in the MS Dash all the
games that crashed worked just fine with no problems whatsoever.

You should also be aware that some apps especially FlashX v1.2 are
also crashing - this is down to the EVOX IGR. You should disable all
EVOX IGR and this will get things moving nicely.

Med 4979 kan vi som har 1.4 & 1.5or få IGR i BIOS och därmed köra med XBMP eller Avalauncher som dashbord!!!

Mitt problem är att jag inte har en susning om hur man går till väga.
Det finns ju två bin filer en som heter 4979.06_256k.bin och en 4979.67_256k.bin...

Om det inte är några problem med 4979 så skall man absolut använda det istället för M7. Men vänta gärna någon vecka och se om det kommer kommentarer om buggar. Jag har inte hunnit testa bioset själv ännu.

Om man nu har en Xbox 1.1 och x-ecuter 2 lite med en hdd på 80gb. Och man vill ha kvar allt som ligger på hdd. Vilket bios skall man då använda??

Eftersom din hårddisk är på mindre än 137GB så spelar det absolut ingen roll alls.

Jag har för mig att vi brukar använda linux och raincoat när vi flashar winbond :-)

Ja, det skall du. Hur tänkte du flasha ditt chip? Använder du flash-bios kommandot i evolution-x dashboard så kommer hela 1024K flashas med 4x av ditt 256K bios

Vet inte riktigt hur jag hade tänkt göra det. Hade tänkt flasha patchat M7 bios från superdisc skivan, men nu såg jag att 4979 kommit och får kanske fundera om. Men som du skrev ska jag vänta nån dag och se om det fungerar bra.
Är det 4979.06_256k.bin som man ska installera för att få allt utrymme på F?
Och 4979.67_256k.bin för att få allt över 137gig på G?

edit: ser nu att det stod tidigare vilken version som är vad.
